Our investors and advisors include industry leaders from the US, Japan, and China, all from a variety of different fields, including electric vehicles, communications, energy management, and semiconductors.

MICHAEL MO
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mr. Mo is a technology entrepreneur and successful investor with over 20 years of experience in technology management, product development, and marketing. From 2007 to 2015, Mr. Mo served as Senior Director of Business Development at Amlogic, Inc. Prior to Amlogic, he was co-founder and CEO of Sympeer Technology, a peer-to-peer network company. Mr. Mo received a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 1995.
SHAWN CANTER
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Mr. Canter is a seasoned corporate executive and board member with over 25 years of experience leading teams in hands-on roles in both institutional and early/growth stage companies bringing solutions to complex situations. He gained significant financial and transactional experience as an executive in M&A at Goldman Sachs and at Bank of America’s investment bank where he also served as COO of M&A. Most recently, Mr. Canter was a partner at Orange Capital Ventures. Mr. Canter earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in organizational studies from Stanford University as well as a JD and MBA from the University of Michigan.
DR. WILLIAM WALKER
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Dr. Walker has significant experience in professional and research-related activities focused on thermo-electrochemical testing and analysis of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery assemblies and related thermal management products designed for space exploration applications. Prior to joining KULR, Dr. Walker was employed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC) where he focused on designing battery assemblies for human spaceflight applications capable of safely mitigating the effects of thermal runaway and preventing cell-to-cell propagation. Dr. Walker received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Houston (UH).
JEONG SONG
VICE PRESIDENT of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Song joins KULR with over a decade of experience in the battery industry, where he successfully scaled new technologies, drove revenue growth with established technologies, and played a key role in M&A initiatives. He has led sales, marketing, program management, and contracts teams in previous roles, bringing a wealth of leadership experience. Additionally, Mr. Song has extensive expertise across various industries, including consumer, industrial, medical, and defense. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Josh Steinmann
VICE PRESIDENT of AI and Robotics
Mr. Steinmann has been building and scaling teams in technology throughout his career within Telecommunications, Cleantech, IoT, and HR Tech. Earlier in his career, Steinmann spent eight years at Qualcomm designing and building CDMA mobile devices as well as serving as an Expat in South East Asia contributing to the growth of CDMA in a number of emerging markets. Steinmann also was an early employee at Khosla Ventures backed IoT company, Helium, which developed a novel air interface and edge compute model for power and bandwidth constrained devices. Most recently, after serving as Chief Commercial Officer at Stella.ai, Steinmann was SVP of Client Services at Trustaff followed by a leadership role within the Office of Innovation at Ingenovis Health. Steinmann earned a Masters Degree in Management from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Peter J. Hughes
Vice President of Engineering
Peter J. Hughes received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Texas A&M University and is currently working on a PhD in Material Science and Engineering at the University of Houston. Peter joined KULR Technology after leaving NASA Johnson Space Center where he primarily focused on battery safety and thermal runaway characterization. While at JSC Peter was involved in the design, development, and testing of the Small and Large Format Fractional Thermal Runaway Calorimeters (S-FTRC and L-FTRC) which provide high-fidelity data on the energy distributed by a cell undergoing thermal runaway while also simultaneously developing the techniques needed to incorporate that data into assembly level models of Li-ion cells to aid in cell selection and system optimization for human space flight applications.
MICHAEL G. CARPENTER
VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING
Mr. Carpenter was former Director and Safety Officer of Energy Science Laboratories PCM Heatsink Group. He also served as Quality Manager and Facility Security Officer in the Defense Industrial Security Program from 1988 to 1995. Mr. Carpenter received a B.S. in Applied Mechanics from UC San Diego in 1983.
Jay Yamamoto
General Counsel
Mr. Yamamoto is a seasoned capital markets attorney. For over 15 years, he has provided strategic advice on securities regulation, corporate governance, M&A, and other complex matters to a large variety of private and public growth companies. His prior law firm practice focused on corporate and securities law, including initial public offerings and secondary transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and SEC reporting and compliance. Mr. Yamamoto received B.A. degrees from Colgate University in economics and philosophy, and his J.D. degree from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. Mr. Yamamoto is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
